The Uttam Bhandar (Uttam Uphargruh is also known as UTTAM BHANDAR) is in Aurangabad city since independence. “UTTAM UPHARGRUH” is a hundred years old shop. It was started in 1914.The Uttam Bhandar is located in Machli, Khadak, Gulmandi, Aurangabad, Maharashtra. It is the only sweet store present from the time of Nizam Government in India. Uttam Bhandar is well known for the famous “Imrati” sweet from the beginning & has all kinds of sweet right now.
It won’t be an exaggeration if I would say UTTAM UPHARGRUH, formerly known as “UTTAM MITAHI”, has a ubiquitous presence in Aurangabadkar’s conscience if it comes to sweets. Since 1914 UTTAM UPHARGRUH has always been bustling with sweet lovers. Who comes here in UTTAM to satiate their appetite for sweets.
Already famous for its IMRATI sweet, UTTAM has found its niche in a wide variety of sweets, which by its unique UTTAM’s touch have huge demand among the different sections of customers from salaried to office goers, from private employees to college students, to the auto drivers, daily wage labourers, etc. Affordability of the sweets also makes UTTAM a place be in when it comes to sweets.

1. BADAM PEDA
Badam peda of UTTAM UPHARGRUH is loved by every age group. It is a sweet made of almond and Milk fudge. Badam peda is a popular Indian “Mithai”
2. KAJU PEDA
Kaju Peda is an Indian sweet dish made using Cashew nuts, sugar and milk powder. Pedas are of different shapes. Kaju peda is lightly flattened and decorated with pistachios, dry fruits and silver edible paper. Usually, pedas are made using Khoya (Mawa) however, Kaju peda is different as it made using Cashew nuts instead of mawa.
3. RAS MALAI
Ras Malai, is a Bengali and Punjabi dessert. It is also known as Rossomalai in Bengal. It is considered to be a variation of the Rasgulla in which syrup is replaced with thick milk.
Ras Malai is a sweet dish which consists of flattened balls of chhana soaked in malai flavoured with cardamom. Milk is first boiled and a bit of vinegar or lime juice is added to split it. Then whey is discarded and the residual milk is drained, cooled and kneaded into a dough. The dough is then divided into small balls and the balls are cooked in hot water. The balls are then cooked in milk with saffron, pistachios and kheer as stuffing.
4. KHAJOOR BARFI
Khajoor Barfi is a famous sweet dish of UTTAM UPHARGRUH. A mouthful of this scrumptious barfi or roll is such a delight and you will instantly fall in love with it. Not to forget it’s various health benefits.
Khajoor barfi is made of khajoor, cashews, pista, badam and sugar.
5. GUPCHUP PEDHA
A simple and most liked sweet dish of UTTAM UPHARGRUH is Gupchup Pedha. It’s a sweet dish preferred for many occasions. Gupchup pedha is made purely of khawa.
Imrati is an sweet from India. Imrati is different from Jalebi. It is made by deep-frying vigna ungo flour batter in a circular flower shape, and then soaked in sugar syrup. Mostly preferred on festive occasions.
UTTAM’S imrati is famous since 1914 as the best seller of UTTAM UPHARGRUH.
Jalebi of UTTAM UPHARGRUH is very tasty & delicious. Jalebi is also the best selling dishe of UTTAM. For this Jalebi, Uttam has a lot of crowd. Sometimes you have to wait in queue for this jalebi.
Fafda is the favourite street food in Gujarat. Fafda is a popular Gujarati snack. In many festivals, fafda is the most preferred snack. Fafda is rectangular in shape and yellowish in complexion. It is eaten with chutney and salty fried-green chills.
8. ANARKALI & CHAMPAKALI BEGNALI SWEET
Both of these dishes are from Bengal. Anarkali & Champakali both of these Bengali dishes are available in UTTAM UPHARGRUH. UTTAM provide the same taste as that from Bengal. Aurangabadkars love both the Bengali dishes.
9. KAJU GAJAK
Kaju Gajak is one of the most famous & tasty sweet of UTTAM BHANDAR. Kaju Gajak is an Indian dry fruit sweet made with Kaju paste. Gajak is made of sesame seeds, and groundnuts. In Kaju Gajak, Cashew nuts and jaggery (cane sugar) are also used. The most famous Kaju Gajak made in UTTAM is the best in quality and taste.
People in Aurangabad love UTTAM’S Dhokla. Dhokla is a popular Gujrati dish. Dhokla of UTTAM UPHARGRUH is very delicious & spongy. The chutney served with dhokla is awsome and the dhokla chutney combination of UTTAM is famous in Aurangabad. It can be eaten in breakfast, as a main course, as a side dish or as a snack.
